How to Connect Xero to XIntelliSync (Step-by-Step)
"You don't need to abandon Xero overnight. Import everything first, then decide."
Xero is the most popular accounting platform in Australia, and it does one thing well: accounting. But Australian SMBs need more than accounting — they need CRM, payroll, inventory, project management, and AI automation. That's the gap XIntelliSync fills.
Before You Connect
Make sure you have:
- An active Xero account with Standard or Advisor permissions on the organisation you want to connect
- An active XIntelliSync subscription (any plan — Starter, Growth, or Enterprise)
- Access to the email address registered with your Xero account (for OAuth authorisation)
Step-by-Step Connection
The entire process takes under 5 minutes:
- Step 1: Log into XIntelliSync and navigate to Settings → Integrations
- Step 2: Find "Xero" in the Direct Integrations section and click "Connect"
- Step 3: You'll be redirected to Xero's authorisation page — sign in and select your organisation
- Step 4: Click "Allow Access" to grant XIntelliSync read access to your Xero data
- Step 5: You'll be redirected back to XIntelliSync — your data import begins automatically
What Happens After Connection
XIntelliSync imports your Xero data in bulk — invoices, contacts, transactions, and chart of accounts. Depending on how much data you have, the initial import may take a few minutes. Once complete, your XIntelliSync dashboard reflects your full financial picture.
Your Xero account is not affected. XIntelliSync reads data from Xero — it does not write to or modify your Xero records.
What to Verify After Import
After your initial import completes, check these items:
- Invoice totals match between Xero and XIntelliSync
- Contact/customer count matches
- Chart of accounts structure imported correctly
- Recent transactions appear with correct dates and amounts
